This Sunday’s service is online only, broadcast from the annual General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association, this year’s largest North American gathering of UUs for worship. The inspired and highly recommended service will substitute for the regular UUFSMA Sunday Service produced in San Miguel.

The Reverend Gretchen Haley has an audacious ambition for the liberal church. She believes in its capacity to transform lives and our world by way of hyper-local relationships and partnerships that inspire the unleashing of courageous love. She oversees worship, community resourcing and outreach, and the intersectional work of UU justice teams. She also serves as chief of staff, and ministry leader to the UUA Board. In all of these, she is inspired by the commitment of countless people who show up to do the sometimes-messy work of the church, and who lead us to live into our mission for Northern Colorado as it grows and changes. Her ministry is infused with her relentless curiosity about most things, especially the big stuff of theology, the beauty of creation, the magic of collaboration, and the joy of pop culture...

Welcome to our Newest Members
Kathy Riehle and Doug Chambers
Kathy and Doug enjoyed housesitting in SMA for April and May 2022 and hope to visit us live again for future housesits in San Miguel. They were Zooming with us before coming to San Miguel. Kathy and Doug live in Berkeley, CA. They have been together for nine years. Kathy was a Michigan transplant 8 years ago and a native of Massachusetts. She worked as an Office Manager for a nursing home and as a hospital Ward Clerk. Doug is a musician, playing several instruments. He and Kathy are active in choirs, and they sing in many languages. Doug and Kathy love to read and travel. Doug has 2 daughters, and Kathy has 4 children and 5 grandchildren.  Doug introduced Kathy to UU; he's been a member in Berkeley for 12 years. Kathy leads several UU committees there. Kathy & Doug have participated in MANY UUFSMA activities in the short time they've known us.

Thanks to members Jean Marie and Frankie for introducing Kathy & Doug to our Fellowship!

Zoom Hosting - To continue our Zoom broadcast of Sunday Services, we are looking for several more volunteers who are available for 1 Sunday every few months. We can train anyone who has basic computer skills, and this task can be done from anywhere in the world. This requires reliable internet access and a laptop or desktop computer.

Finance Committee - If you have a background and/or interest in accounting, finance, investments, banking, or a hankering to talk about money policies, please consider joining the Finance Committee that meets quarterly to make financial recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Contact: Margo Johnson: uufsma.president@gmail.com

Social Action Committee - Our Social Action Committee, which works all year to vet and monitor our Fellowship’s grantees, has a couple of vacancies available for dynamic members who like to be close to the action!  We only meet once a month, typically via Zoom, and we share what each of us has learned about the nonprofits we steward. Each of us on the team feels personally enriched by the relationships we have developed with our grantees, which are prominent nonprofits that have proven themselves capable of serving those most in need. We are honored to support the wonderful things they do.

Tuesday Discussion group, June 21, 2022 (11:00am)

The Tuesday Zoom discussion group will be led by Lou Marines.

Topic: Our current life challenges
We have all faced a variety of challenges in our lives to this point. Mentors and guides have helped us along the way from parents, teachers, philosophers, great literary characters, colleagues and friends, even TV and movie characters may have been role models. What life skills have we developed that have prepared us for current challenges arising in our lives now? Are we ready to face anything because we know WE CAN? How do we know that?
