RIGHT HAND MINISTRIES
Perplexed, but Not Despairing
January Newsletter

Above: The white building is preexisting, being used for church, prayer and pastors' meetings. The other parts of the building are a new girls home under construction. More info in the newsletter. Prayer needed for more funds to be able to complete it.

Dear RHM Friends,

Greetings in the Precious Name of JESUS.

Click here to open up a pdf of our January newsletter,
this month including beautiful photos of the HOPE children, sharing about the above need of a girls home, hoping to support some pastors who have lost their sponsorship for 2019, and a very important prayer request: needing wisdom in regard to choosing more widows/elderly who may be in need.

"...we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing." 2 Corinthians 4:8.  This is Paul the apostle giving testimony to the fact that there were many things in their life and walk with GOD which they couldn't understand, but they kept their hope and eyes upon Him Who is faithful. Because their faith was strong, the Lord was able to continually manifest Himself through the lives of these faithful men (great example in Acts 16:16-40). RHM is going through a season of unusual financial struggle, I suppose as we have never gone through before, at least not to this level. Haven't had time to do the figures, but for sure non-designated funds were down considerably in 2018 compared to the previous 2 or 3 years. Without a miracle, changes are imminent. I know for many of you, "out of sight, out of mind", so the struggles of a ministry many thousands of miles away may not be much of a reality for you, but for some of you, your hearts are knit with this ministry to the poor here in India, and you will be in prayer. For that reason only am I sharing these things.

Perhaps I'll share more later, but it's a very complex situation here in India, as this is election year here in India, both at the state and national level. It's AMAZING how generous politicians can become when they're trying to get people's votes!!! In this HOPE state, where most all of the widows/elderly program exists, the 2 contenders for the office of chief minister are both boasting great benefits for the widows, poor, etc. Elections here are every 5 years, and isn't it a wonder that very little gets done for more than 4 years, but  WOW, when it came within 6 months or so from the elections in March or April, suddenly they have such loving and compassionate hearts. And road construction is going on all over this state, while previously very little was taking place.

All that said to say this: we really need wisdom for this widows ministry. Already there's the continual issue of people exaggerating their level of need in order to try and gain some benefits, but now there's the added issue of not knowing the future. Will the politicians follow through on their promises, and for how long? We're only looking for those who are truly in need, even their basic needs of food, clothing and/or shelter (and in today's world, medical needs) not being met.

Bless you, and thanks always for your love, prayers and support! And pray for more donors! Thanks.
Dan, RHM
