PTO Fundraising 101:
Feeling lost and overwhelmed by all of the Fundraisers? You aren’t alone. This is Part Two of a three-part series focusing on the three different types of fundraisers that you can expect to hear about from the PTO. If you missed last week's newsletter on the Walk-a-Thon, click here
Part Two - Silent Fundraisers
Silent Fundraisers are an easy way for families to raise money for the school with the purchases that you are already making. These programs do not cost you anything, just a few minutes of your time.

1. Box Tops
Clipping, collecting and submitting Box Tops for Education earns our school a substantial amount of financial support each year. You can cut box
top labels from any of these participating products. Each box top is worth $.10 cash to our school.

Although labels can be sent in at anytime and placed in the large soup can near the main entrance of the school, four box top drives are done each year. The first box top drive starts Monday, October 1 and runs through Monday, October 15. Look for the sheet to come home with your child.

If your child turns in a collection sheet by October 15 with at least 5 eligible Box Tops on it, they will be awarded a participation prize. Each child that submits 25 eligible Box Tops will be entered to win a prize pack for Family Fun Day. One gift card per grade will be awarded. Please check the date on the box top and send in only ones that have not expired.

If you have questions regarding Box Tops or are able to help tally Box Tops, please contact Silent Fundraising Chair, Suzie Hengst at suzie.h1893@gmail.com.

2. Giant Bonus Card A+ Rewards

Each registered Giant Bonus Card can designate 2 schools to earn a percentage of the all of your Giant

Helping Hands - a Student Volunteer Service Organization

Helping Hands is an elementary volunteer service organization for 4th and 5th grade students. These students experience the joys of giving to other people and donating their time to make a difference. Students from each 4th and 5th grade classroom have the opportunity to join this organization at the beginning of the school year.

Their first project of the year will be “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.” The Helping Hands volunteers will be learning about how organizations both locally and nationally help children their age. As the fall progresses, Helping Hands will be looking for support to purchase craft supplies to make items for the Mohler Senior Center in Hershey.

Questions about Helping Hands can be directed to Mrs. Bruce, school counselor at lbruce@ldsd.org.
